Christ’s Final Classroom

On the night before the cross, Jesus gathered His disciples in an upper room and prepared them for life and ministry after His departure. In these five chapters of John’s Gospel, Christ spoke some of His deepest words about love, truth, holiness, peace, prayer, suffering, the Holy Spirit, Christian unity, and gospel mission. What began as a private conversation with eleven disciples has become timeless instruction for every believer who seeks to follow Christ faithfully in a hostile world.

Throughout the 2026–27 chapel year, the Bob Jones University family will walk verse-by-verse through John 13–17 in a series entitled Christ’s Final Classroom. Together we will sit at the feet of Jesus and learn from the Savior who loved His own “to the end” (John 13:1). These messages will challenge us toward deeper discipleship, greater humility, steadfast faith, Spirit-filled living, biblical unity, and joyful endurance in the mission Christ has given His church.

In a confused and restless age, the Farewell Discourse reminds us that Christ is still sufficient for troubled hearts, still sanctifying His people through truth, and still sending His followers into the world with the gospel. As a university committed to biblical truth and Christ-centered service, we pray this study will shape students, faculty, and staff into believers who abide in Christ and boldly live for His glory.
