About

Deanna Gardner is an adjunct faculty member, directing the University Handbell Choir.

Although her parents were not musicians themselves, they saw the value in a music education, and started her on piano at an early age. She holds a B.S degree in Music Education from Bob Jones University, as well as a M.M. in Choral Conducting. Deanna studied piano with Dr. Karen Wilson and conducting with Dr. Warren Cook.

Since graduating, Deanna has collaborated with several community choral and theater groups. She was a paid member of the Greenville Chorale, and the Herring Chamber Ensemble. She also was involved in several musical productions with the South Carolina Children’s Theatre. She has worked for Sacred Music Services and Majesty Music. While at Majesty Music, she became proficient in Finale and was the music typesetter for their publications. She has recorded with many companies, including The Wilds, Majesty Music, Bible Truth Music, Soundforth, and Sacred Music Services.

Deanna is very involved with the music at her local church. She has been the director of the Children’s Choir Club, led a teen choir and many adult ensembles, as well as conducting the church handbell choir. She is married to John Gardner, and they have one adult son, Nathan.
