What type of high school did you graduate from?
Public school

Why did you choose BJU?
Initially, I chose BJU because my dad and multiple family members attended. Then, when it was time for me to apply to college, I wanted to attend a university where I would get an excellent education and be surrounded by people of like-minded faith.

What was your favorite class in college?
Early Childhood Curriculum was so much fun! We implemented practical knowledge we gained in various classes to prepare for our future classrooms. We built curricula, made unit studies and learned to design classrooms.

How did you grow in your years at BJU?
I grew so many ways in my time at BJU. Vibrant campus life and many fun experiences helped me break out of my shell, join groups and do activities outside my comfort zone.

Academically, my critical-thinking skills were tested. Various classes and seminars greatly enhanced my personal discernment and desire for understanding. Because BJU provides awesome fine arts experiences, I grew culturally in my love of art, music and theatre. Most importantly, however, I grew in my desire to know and follow Christ on a deeper level.

What are your hobbies or interests?
I love baking, swimming and shopping! One of my favorite pastimes is being on the beach or near the ocean. You’ll usually find me hanging out with my husband, kiddos and our animals.

Any advice for incoming students?
Bathe all things in prayer, seek godly counsel, take everything one day at a time and work hard. But most importantly, enjoy your time here! The connections and experiences you gain at BJU will continue into your life and career.
